Therapeutic Yoga: The Three Diaphragms with Autumn Bonner

January 27 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

$30 – $50

Yoga is the process of encountering mysteries in ourselves, and delighting when we find new understanding.

How is your core strength?

Often times in response we think of the ability to use our rectus abdominis to do situps, or the ability to activate the deep layer of muscles/transverse abdominis in our abdomen during planks. But our core involves so much more than the activation of a couple of muscles. It is a dynamic pressurized system directly affected by our breath, and experienced at multiple levels in our body. In this workshop, Autumn will guide you through self assessment of three keys areas of this pressure system — your respiratory diaphragm located at the base of your ribcage, your pelvic floor diaphragm at the base of your pelvis, and your thoracic or vocal diaphragm at your throat.

Learn through gentle yoga movement and postures how less really is more when it comes to feeling strong!

This workshop is for you if:

  • You need a reboot of your core building routine AND/OR you have difficulty participating in classes focused on planks, crunches, etc.
  • You have difficulty feeling your connection to your breath in yoga.
  • You would like to understand which alignment and core focused cues apply to your unique body.
  • You are working with chronic/persistent pain issues.
  • You are a yoga teacher looking for new ways to cue core awareness in yoga postures.

Shine light on your Diaphragms with Autumn’s years of anatomy study and light-hearted approach to working with pain.

Note: This class will include students from The Studio’s Yoga Teacher Training Program. Registration is limited and fills up quickly, so grab your spot!
