Posture Clinic: Camel with Meg

March 3 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

$15 – $30

Camel can highlight our structural weaknesses or tendencies in ways that inform and light the path toward overcoming them.

Ustrasana (camel) is a pose that often presents challenges for people, it is a simple shape, but by no means an easy one. Some practitioners run into back pain or other difficulties that make it tempting to avoid Camel pose altogether and thus bypassing the potential for this pose to assist in a big and powerful heart opening.

In energetic medicine the poison is often considered the medicine if the dose is measured right. It is no different here.

This month’s posture clinic will focus on establishing healthy form and action in ustrasana to grow the strength of the legs and core and increase mobility of the spine. We will study the pose itself as well as shapes that relate to and inform it. We will adjust, refine and trouble shoot, and explore the right form for our unique shapes.

ALL LEVELS. Returning to the basics is always a good idea.

So what’s a “Posture Clinic”?

This class is an opportunity for us to take an in depth look at a specific pose that we see frequently in classes. We will break down all of the component pieces of the posture and even look at ways that we can better prepare ourselves for the form. The goal will be for each person to walk away from the class with a better idea of how to work within your own pose, so that the next time it is called in class, you know where you are and what you need to do. And if you like to get real nerdy about alignment, you will be in perfect company.
