Etiquette

Seven things that make it awesome around here

1. BE ON TIME

Please arrive 5 – 10 minutes early. If you are running behind, know that no entries are allowed five minutes after the start of class. We totally understand that your meeting ran late, that traffic was bad, that you really, really need a yoga class today. In fact, it crushes us to turn you away. But we cannot disrupt the teacher or the 50+ other students to let you enter beyond the five minute mark.

2. NO PHONE ZONE

Yay! A place where you get to turn off your phone. All phones need to be powered OFF in the studio spaces proper (even if you’re just hanging on your mat prior to class.) If you need to use your device to send someone a quick text, please do it on the first floor in the entryways. It’s our intention that our main lounge areas and studio spaces are device-free.

3. QUIET PLEASURES

Please keep voices down in and out of the studio spaces. It’s very likely someone in our space is trying to enjoy a quiet savasana. (And obviously no talking during class.)

4. HAPPY HAMPER

Doing laundry. Is important. To everyone standing and laying next to you.

5. R-E-S-E-R-V-E-D

We really mean it. The RESERVED mats in the back of the room are reserved until class starts. No exceptions. You will be asked to move if you take one. If you have to have one of those specific spots, you will need to wait to roll out until the teacher begins teaching. (We need to hold these spots until the actual start of class so that the entire room does not need to shift as people enter the class before the 5 minute grace period.)

6. GOT A GREAT SEQUENCE?

We have Open Studio time where you can practice it. Out of respect for the teacher and your fellow students, please follow the teacher’s sequence. We get that you may need to dial it up or down or modify various poses. That is totally cool. But coming to a class and then completely doing ¬†your own thing is distracting to everyone.

7. BE KIND

THANK YOU!
