Between 2011 and 2015, my practice was off an on, and then I committed to it. In 2017, I quit my corporate job without any plans other than to become certified to teach. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Through my time with this experiential practice, I have found yoga to offer a plethora of internal opportunities. Yoga cultivates the relationship between breath, body, and mind. Yoga offers nonjudgmental acceptance on the path to bravely seeking your personal edge. To me, yoga is simultaneously freeing and grounding.
I aim to create space for students to explore what yoga means to them through mindfully cued vinyasa and yin sequences with many options. My hope is that students feel safe and empowered to practice in a way that serves their unique bodies, remembering always that asana is only one of the eight limbs of yoga. I am so excited to bring my love for this practice to The Studio and to learn from and with the community here.
Outside the studio, you might find me snuggling my pup (Copper, who has the best ears), reading (probably nonfiction but I do indulge in the occasional novel), tending to my plants, or watching too many hours of some show while curled up on the couch. I believe yoga, in addition to all the above, is personal, relational, and interactive, so if you see me out and about, come say “hi”!
