“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” -Albert Einstein

Purposeful movement has been my way to channel restless energy into something meaningful. Dancing, kicking a soccer ball, passing the baton in a relay, hitting a volleyball, hiking, or sharing breath in yoga class are a range of ways that have helped me to value the journey.

To learn more about the science and benefits of movement, I have pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science, an advanced certification as a Certified Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Utilizing my education, I have worked as a collegiate volleyball coach, exercise specialist, personal trainer, and physical therapist. I have worked with individuals across the lifespan to improve self-efficacy and to achieve their personal goals, whether it be related to health, fitness, rehab, pain, stress, sport, or function.

Initially, I practiced yoga to help with muscle imbalances from year round collegiate volleyball training and to find that elusive “work-life balance”. In addition to the numerous physical and mental benefits of a consistent yoga practice, I have discovered an incredibly supportive community at The Studio which has helped me to cultivate mindfulness, creativity, happiness, friendship, and well-being.

Drawing from my educational, professional, and personal health and fitness experience, I am excited to connect with The Studio students as a Personal Fitness Trainer.
