Kelly Otto has been teaching yoga for over 20 years. She is a certified yoga instructor through Tias Little’s Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, NM. She is pursuing her 500-hour certification with Prajna as well as a therapeutic massage licensure.
Her yoga journey began in the early 1990s with Ashtanga training. Following a teacher training retreat in 1996 with Hatha teacher Eric Shiffman, her approach to asana, sequencing and meditation broadened. In the late ’90s, she continued to explore alignment and the Iyengar approach, including the styles and teachings of Aadil Palkhivala and Roger Eischens.
She earned a bachelor’s in English and education at Edgewood College, was awarded a Humera Fellowship for Teachers, and earned a certificate in mindfulness-based stress reduction from Bangor University in the U.K. She is also a certified personal trainer and pilates instructor.
Every class of Kelly’s features her grounded, healing approach to the whole of the subtle body. “There’s no need to pry anything open,” she says. “Yoga is about being present with breath and sensation.” Experience the fluid movement that characterizes Kelly’s teaching approach.
